Spinal Decompression Traction Table (External Spinal Decompression)

HOME | SERVICES | DECOMPRESSION

Decompression or traction therapy is another treatment that allows physical therapists and chiropractors to relieve neck and lower back pain, as well as help with numbness, tingling, and pain radiation from the spine to the extremities. The purpose is to reverse the force of gravity on the vertebrae and allow relief from the gravitational pressure of everyday walking and sitting. It also allows nutrients and oxygen to flow to an otherwise undernourished inner spinal canal.

This is performed by placing the patient onto the traction table with a harness which is attached to a computerized traction unit. The harness is attached to either the neck or lower back/waist and the traction unit gradually applies sequenced decompressive force by pulling on your neck or lower back.
